ICAU 10 MKII intercom and audio mixing unit for Kiran aircraft
ICAU 10 MKII provides intercommunication between two crew members of the Kiran aircraft — pilot and co-pilot, instructor and trainee, or pilot and passenger. It also receives and amplifies audio outputs from ADF, R/T main and R/T standby receivers and feeds them to the headsets. A warning tone is generated and fed to the headsets when the canopy is unlocked. Microphone signals can be switched to either R/T main or R/T standby via external aircraft wiring; during R/T transmit, intercom is muted and ADF audio is muted. Two identical amplifier stages with independent regulated power supplies provide redundancy — one channel can fail and the other still delivers full power.
